Re: The housing market: Pop goes the bubble

The freebies given the builders will not be more than few lakhs of rupees if you total them. In 2012, a 3 BHK flat costs around 90 lakhs and now it is almost the same. As you rightly said, they increase the base price and give discounts, which is not really a discount. In terms of per sq ft rate ...

Re: The housing market: Pop goes the bubble

1.5 years have passed since this article came up in Livemint and looking back, there has been absolutely no bubble or slowdown in house / plot prices in Bangalore, as far as I have seen. Looks like the 'bubble' theories do not work in Bangalore and India in general. There is not even a slowdown !!

Campan Valley - Varthur, Whitefield

Hi All,
Visited the Campan Valley - a layout with around 350 sites near Varthur. Looks good as a layout and location is ok (could develop in the next 3-5 years). priced around Rs 2700-3000 per sq ft. I observe that the developer developer has not finalized the exact plot size, there are different ...

Re: The housing market: Pop goes the bubble

One point mentioned in the ndtv article is the unsold volumes. I think this is an undisputed fact and there is huge volume of unsold homes/flats. The article also mentions the builders reluctance to reduce price, for the fear of creating 'panic' in the market. Actually this 'panic' could be an ...

Re: The housing market: Pop goes the bubble

@msn1270 - I understood the ad you pasted is a news/ad by Upkar developers who have their key projects in E-city/Hosur road area. I think the news/ad says how south bangalore has developed / is developing. But in my experience, in the whole of bangalore & adjoining suburbs, the real estate rates are ...

Saw an ad today from Brigade group. This is for Brigade Cosmopolis ... their new property in Whitefield, opp to Forum Value Mall. The price quoted (pre-launch) is around 6500 per sqft. I have seen this area ... even 2-3 years back the rate was around 3-4K per sqft for similar apartments. Not sure ...

Re: The housing market: Pop goes the bubble

Inventory levels in Mumbai around 65% i.e. 'total unsold/getting ready' and the developer expects a 20-25% fall in prices of houses/apartments. I guess the inventory levels in Bangalore are not very different as there are many unsold/under-development apartments that we can see in all parts of ...
