Re: Akrama Sakrama - Deviation
isn't leaving space a good thing. You will get more light and air into the house. I don't understand why everyone wants to maximize the use of land - if you want more space, just go up vertically.

Re: StairCase design - Spiral or SemiSpiral or Normal
space wise it is efficient. but be careful - it is more inconvenient going up and down those stairs, particularly with any baggage. Also, if you have older people, then it will be very difficult for them (very strenuous I mean).

Re: My Vacant Site - Some brokers are planning to sell it
get an encumberance certificate for about 10 or 12 years and make sure that it is still on your name (and no one else has got an entry in it).
Put up a board at the site with the following info - "site belongs to (your name)" and it is not for sale.

Re: Wall mounted or regular commode
I did not go for the concealed tank (that is what makes them expensive). I preferred the tank type and we got Kohler wall hung with tank (it takes up a little more room), but looks neat and is easy to clean the floor like someone said. It was no more expensive than the floor mounted ones>

Re: Mosquito Nets
when you get the mesh - check out the visibility issues with the various kinds of mesh. Most screens are good in keeping mosquitoes out, but remember when you want to look out the window, there should be no lines visible. I had to do a very long search to get that. But finally did get, unfortunately...

Re: Pro & Con of Basement
folks, if you go for the basement (as in totally below ground level) then you have all those issues. Instead have it such that you are partially below ground level, but have windows and such above ground level. that is what I have 1. the elevation/vasthu as someone said will not be good - is not an ...

Re: flooring and countertops
I asked for red-oxide flooring (about 3 years back) for my house. but was warned that the chemicals for the red finish are not as good these days and it will chip and start to look ugly very quickly.

Re: Is Building Plan Approval happens/needed for B Khata Plo
no you won't get plan approval. But basically the point is that you are not allowed to build on that plot as of yet. Once they issue A Khata then you are allowed to build there. About betterment charges - that is really for the facilities the organizations provide you (water, sewer, electricity, roa...

Re: Is Building Plan Approval happens/needed for B Khata Plo
Not sure where your contacts are getting their info. 1. first off, B Khata is not even a valid khata and there were many threads about all the issues with it. Try to read that up. 2. Doesn't matter what khata you have, you need a plan approval, construction without plan approval is illegal. 3. Besid...
