Would filing an RTI help in obtaining the status of the allotment? Is there a means to file the RTI application online? Is there a separate website where I can obtain specific information from MUDA? Please advise.

During March Press meet, MUDA Commissioner had said, they're waiting for Chief Minster D.V.S to release the Allottee List. Its already two month over, no more updates. By filing ana RTI, definitely you can get the actual status information from the MUDA for the delay in releasing the allottment list.

There is no online filing of RTI in karnataka. You can file the application by paying Rs.10 at the below address.

Thanks MSN1270 for the info. I am currently on a project assignment and not in town to apply. Can I take a print out and mail the form? If anyone has filed an RTI to get the information regarding MUDA allotments, please post the response received.

My brother-in-law who is in army had applied for 50*80 site, he called today and told that some MUDA related authorities called him up and told that they would be visiting him in the address provided in the application to verify whether the application is legitimate & that he does not own government property land .

As csnana informed, it appears that "MUDA officers" are validating the applicant details and trying to eliminate the fraudulent applications. See the news article below:

In what could allay the fears of MUDA site aspirants, the authority has set in motion a process to inspect the authenticity of the applicants for sites at R T Nagar, Lalitadripura and Chamalapura (Nanjangud).

In a press release, MUDA Commissioner C G Betsurmath has stated that several teams of officers belonging to the authority have been formed to verify the addresses given in the application forms.

Some of the teams are already in action. The commissioner has warned the applicants against middlemen and to lodge complaints with the authority in case of any such assurances from touts, the release added.

The rate at which MUDA has been doing this job is pathetic. it took 6 months to enter all the details into their system and now they have started evaluating. From what I heard they have reduced the applicant list from 1.4 lakhs to 85,000 so far by eliminating the fraudulent aspirants. All those eliminated folks will loose their initial deposit for falsifying the applications which will be a new source of revenue for MUDA. It might be close to another 6-12 months before we can really see the allotment list or our initial money (valid applicants).

What can be done to speed up this process? Can any local members file a RTI and gather more information?

its just another time passing activity. When they have called for applications from any karnataka person(not just restricted to Mysore District), even from those who is staying outside karnataka or abroad, several thousands of applicants from various parts of the world have applied for it. How can they validate each and every address in every part of karnataka or outside karnataka systematically.

There will be thousands of applicants who have given address where they are tenants of Rental houses. In this 8 months(From sept 2011 itself to June 2012), many people would have changed their residences for various reasons. They cannot victimise all these applicants saying fake applicants.

Instead they can concentrate on validating, whether the applicant has not taken site or House from any other Governemtn bodies like BDA, KHB, Hudco...etc.

Here you go.. ONE more announcement. Hope this one is for real. No Guarantees until it really happens. Its interesting to note that some times they quote 3900 sites and some times its 3099. Not sure whats the correct number. Or may the truth is officials have done themselves a favour in lowering the number and have all secured a site of their own for kin, relatives and friends.
