I am considering to buy a BDA approved plot. Somebody was mentioning to me about "Khata Extract". What is the importance of this documents and how to get it for the plot that I want to buy?

khata extract is next to Khata certificate, a very much required document for any property within BBMP/BDA Limit for any kind of transaction on that property.
It gives all the necessary details of an asset including the number of owners so far & who is the current owner, assessed Tax value,..etc. Without which you cannot
get building plan approval, home loans...etc. You can get it from BBMP(If that area is already handed over to BBMP by BDA, else you need to get it from BDA) by paying Rs. 100. Mostly even from Bangalore one Centre issues RC Book Extract for all the Vehicles of Karnataka RTO. Similarly they may also give this certificate(not Sure).
