Carpenter's quotation

I received the following quotation from the carpenter:

1. Main door : Rs.200 per sq.ft
2. Pooja Door: Rs.250 per sq.ft
3. Flush Doors: Rs.95 per sq.ft
4. Frames and PVC Doors fix: Rs.75 per sq.ft
5. Windows: Rs.135 per sq.ft
6. Ventilators: Rs.750 per unit

Note:
Door lock fixing varies from rs.350-500
Machinery work and carving will be charged extra
ventilators are not based on sq.feet but on no. of pieces
glass fixing rs.10 per sq.ft

Can you comment on these rates ?
Are there any scope for hidden charges that will come only later.

Hi Sholla ,

The quote from the carpenter ,what you received is pretty expensive.Ihave finalised a carpenter for 100/sq.ft over all including making doors ,shutters and fixing them .I had checked out with few carpenters and had recd quotes varying from 100-a50/sq.ft .I would request you to check out his work before zeroing on him .

Thanks Satish,
Compared to the quotes you mentioned, these are pretty high. The teak doors rates
are high because of the designs involved. Rest I am not sure.
I will try to shop around.
