Hi Thanga,

All the very best. I am planning to purchase/supply the building materials on my own. Will it work out? if yes how much % of money i can save?
Can you suggest me in detail the process of getting the plan approval. Are you in good terms/contacts with the government officials, if yes please refer them, so that i will be clear on how much i need to pay them for the approval (bribe/fees).

Dear friends,

If some one wants to construct the ground floor now (colomn structure), and the first & second floor after 4-5 years, will there be any structural problems with the building?
Few people suggested that, the top 2 floors might not be strong to sustain... Is that true?

Hi Thanga,

Architect is hired. Contractor will be hired only for labor and execution. One of us will be there to monitor. I am planning to buy materials (cement, steel, granite, tiles, sand, blocks, wood, electrical, plumbing etc) online, like materialtree and others who gives the best deal/price and convenience. Please suggest.

Thanks for the BBMP details.

Hi suresh

Good to hear you started to construct on your own, please try to follow these points

1. Final plan with elevation
2. select mesons and workers who are experienced and can advice you regarding the process and final results.
3. dependable material suppliers.
4. civil engg for technical advice.

Hi Shaan,

Thanks for your advice. I have not yet started to construct, it was just the plan concluded which i have mentioned in my previous comment.
In fact i have even asked suggestion from the forum members. Mr. Thanga has shared the BDA personnel contact to complete the approval process seamlessly.
Good i joined this forum, and i'm getting so much support and good advice.
