Dear vinayak,

Myself a Structural Engineer, I have reviewed your Foundation/Structural Drawings, No need to worry about the foundation drawings as of now.your Architect would have made it done by a Experienced Structural Engineer.we Structural Engineers use a structural software called "STAADPRO" it is the best software in the industry it can do analysis & design as well once loads are input input to the system. Iam giving this information generally so that who all are worried about the structural safety of there houses need not worry, once your structural engineers use this software & gives you the drawings based on the output from it.

Dear Mr.Vinayak,
Saw your designs and had few comments as a Structural Engineer.

1.SBC to be considered should be taken around 15T/m2 or lesser as you have mentioned it as a loose soil and the picture posted shows that the bottom layer has a clayey soil. So taking less sbc should be have been Taken (not 18 T/m2)
2.The design itself is wrong in many ways like most of the footing to be designed as square footing not rectangular footings(D5,D3,E5,B2,D2,E2,C1,E1)
Footing at,D5 is unnecessarily made eccentric footing.
3.The matt reinforcement if it is made rectangular will have different spacings or reinforcements for both sides as the load transfered is different
4.If the floor height is 10’ then column size is ok. Still the the reinforcement has to be checked for columns as the reinforcement for this house is more.
5.Kindly stop using Staadpro for designing go for better softwares like ETABS,SAFE,STRUDS,NISA etc as they give better results and are user friendly and the customers can reap the benefits by saving steel and having good and safe structures
6.Choose a good Structural Engineer who is independent not the one choosen by Architect as they will be asked to compromise on designs by the Architect’s.
7.Choose a good Architect who knows the value of the people who live in that house and who does not compromise on safety for earning few Bucks extra and does not dictate terms for Engineers and Structural Engineers to compramise on safety.

Thanks
