Hi Amrut,

I don't prefer to use different brand steel in the Construction. Especially Footings and Column as there are foundation for your house.
Please don't compromise on Steel brands, If you choose low cost steel you will save just 30-50K max between brands at Overall Construction Perspective.

When you are putting money for 50Lakhs + why do you go for low cost steel.

Either Go with JSW/TATA/INDUS/MEENAKSHI/PRIMEGOLD - They are the good ones available in Market. Choose any one of them.

Hi Friends,

It's a general query, This is regarding the Interiors for the House.

How good is to go with Interiors design firms like Bonito Designs, Artis Interiorz, Designarcinteriors as they only handle Turnkey Projects (Complete Wood work & False Ceiling). Experts can suggest on this.

What is the best way to go ahead with Interior works
1) Taking the designs from good Interior Designer and execute yourself with good Carpenter team
2) Going with Interior design firms as they have Factory and finishing will be good

Any other options there with respect to Interiors.

Hi Swamy
If you only procure material and execute interiors probably you can save 15 to 20% max.But if u can spend 20% more then you go with Benito or some other firms, the finish will be perfect and looks rich.that will add value to your entire spending on House.
I wanted to contact you Swamy personally ,can u share your mail id or phone number pls.

Hi All,
Wanted to know regarding slab concreting.
1. Use Ready Mix concrete ( eg RMC ready mix )
2. Use Manual mixing at site using Acc cement etc.

Which one will be good for slab concreting? I have to take a call as early as possible.
If I choose RMC reday mix. what are those things needs to be taken care?

Goutam

Hi Goutam,

Ready Mix Concrete is little High compared to Manual Mixing.
If you are going with Ready Mix, then please take care of below points

1) Inform the RMC Vendor and they will calculate how much Volume (CU/M3) is required for your Slab and recommended grade (M20/M25)
2) Ready Mix is very quick, it will hardly takes max 2 Hours for 1200 to 1500 SQFT Area.
3) Pumping is required, So usually RMC Vendor will charge Pump charges (If the Volume is more than 25 CU/M3 then the charges are Free)
4) Always go with Good RMC Vendors (Lafarge, L & T, ACC )
5) Don't allow to mix more water during pumping the RMC mix to Slab
6) Ensure you have more space in your site for Lorry, Pump etc...
7) Inform your Neighbours well before for inconvenience
8) Ensure you are using Vibrators for Beams & Pillars

If you are going with Manual Mixing - Use always 53 Grade Cement ACC, The Time taken will be around 7 - 8 Hours
Ensure the mixing as recommended (M20 or M25) and vibrator usage.

If any other points to be considered, let experts can throw their points.

Hi Friends,

Updates on my House Construction till 20th Jan 2017,

We have completed Second Floor Roof Slab (Duplex), There was delay in the morning for setup and all the Gang mens didn't turned up, 4-5 members were not came, Our Mestri included his team for Manual Mixing work, not happy the way the work started.

Total Cement used : 135 Bags (Birla Super 53 grade @ 370 per bag)
Total Steel Used (JSW at 47500 per ton) : Weight not calculated

From tomorrow onwards we are starting left over Internal Walls + Fixing the Main Door & Pooja Room & Windows
I am going with Teak Wood + White sal for Doors & Windows. All Doors will be Veneered Flush doors (Nikki/Kalpataru) except Main door & Pooja Door

Also I need to plan for Future activities - Electrical + Plumbing : Any suggestions on this 2 activities before taking the work ?

Let me know if any additional precautions to be taken at this stage from the experts.

Hi Swamy

Are you using composite pipes in your house.

If Yes , which brand coming to your mind or you suggest.
