Urgent!! Ideas needed for upgrading existing water sump

I have a underground water storage sump of around 3-4k lts which is insufficient for us. We want to increase the existing capacity of the sump but the problem is that the sump has been created below a room and the building is already constructed fully and we are living over in the same. We fear that any attempts to increase the existing capacity would require a demolition and would cause unnecessary cracks and water leakages and may make the basement bit shaky. So we were thinking of creating a different sump altogether in space left for parking but unsure since it would make the existing sump useless and cause us unnecessary hardships with shifting of water pipelines.

Any ideas or suggestions are really appreciated!!

Thanks,
Raghu

Have a separate sump with the additional capacity and interconnect both the sump. It will be easy solution

Thanks yogavelraj!! Yes we have done the same now. We have added a T junction so that the water fills up both the sumps but needs an additional motor which atleast fulfills the purpose without causing much hardships!!

Two option
1. Add 1 or 2 additional tank on the top floor.
2. Have one more sump in ground floor and have small motor and connect all of them with automated water level controller.

This is best solution suited for, we built additional sump same like this in my native, with 2inch pipe interconnecting both sumps at bottom.

You haven't mentioned, how many people stay in the property. Water storage capacity will be decided by the average water consumption/person and required for number of days.

For quick & Affordable solution, you can add additional Over head tank and rework the pipe line to inter Connect it to the existing Tank.
This will helps to have more water storage, by pumping the water whenever supply is there(If Kaveri is the only source).

Thanks all we did create a separate sump just beside the existing one and connected it to the same pipe. Now we use both the sumps with an automated water level controller.
