Correcting overhead water tank leakage

Post by ddn »

Hi,

We have an overhead tank which is having seepage on the side wall, close to the bottom. Many cracks can be seen in the outer wall plastering. The tank is made out of bricks unfortunately and not RCC.

I have come across Dr. Fixit pidifin 2k, which can be applied on the inner wall of the tank. However, I am not sure if this is effective or sufficient.

I would be grateful if you can suggest any solution for this.

Thanks.

Hi Ddn,

You can use Dr.Fix it but it will be temporary solution. The simplest solution would be to install a 500 or a 1000 liter sintex tank which will last for years.
Any of your local plumbers can install it for you.

Regards,
Bam
