Planning for a elevator in a new house construction. I am a bit skeptical regarding the security(against theft) that an internal elevator(opens inside the house) would provide.

This is for a duplex house from first floor. The elevator would open outside on the ground floor and opens inside the house on the first and second floor.

What security measures would one have to likely take care of

Hi Shivhiri,

were you able to find a solution to this situatio. I'm starting my construction from next week. i too have similar plan with ground with elevator opening in 2nd floor and 3rd floor duplex for myself. First floor let out without access to elevator. I was thinking of some kind of external door with lock. or some kind of proximity card based opening of the elevator door(Need to factor cost involved.)

regards,
Naveen

Intially I was also looking at the elevator opening up inside the house , after lot of deliberation from my family, we decided to go for external opening , personally i think it was a good decision looking from a safety stand point .
Mine is G + Duplex with 4 stops.
