Unexpected spike in traffic lead to downtime

Post by krish »

Dear all,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused for the downtime on Jun 10, 2014.
From our logs, we see that there is sudden spike in number of users and our old servers are not designed to handle the peak volumes.

Even though technical team has been pushing for higher server configuration, investor team did not give considerable attention. So, we could not upgrade servers because of low (no) funds.

Finally we convinced the investor team that we are getting better server configuration with 5% increase in budget and (after seeing disastrous day) they approved. We upgraded to better server configuration. This server will serve 5x of our current load.

So, with bad part over, lets hope that we will see better performance and better availability with this higher configuration.

We hope that you will overlook this operational (and unavoidable) glitch and continue using the site as before and give your co-operation and support for building great real estate community.

BR,
Krish.
Technical Team Lead.
