Property tax for JP nagar & other BDA layouts

My BDA tax has increased almost 10 times when compared previous years. Previously I used to pay Rs 586 per year for the BDA plot. Now it has gone to 5340 rs. Any reason why this much of hike in tax?
Everyone facing same thing?
Anajanapura, BSK6th stage and visveswaraiah layout have gone up by 3 to 4 times..
