Hinges for wardrobe

Post by Chandu »

Should I go to europian cup hinges (which have spring action) or use the normal cut-hinges (with magnet)
Please suggest or share your experience.

Hi Chandu
Cup hinges or auto close hinges vs cut hinges
Cup hinges are modular system ,fix them and adjust the settings - cut hinges need to be adjusted and fixed once for all
Cup hinges are auto close - cut hinges doesnt close by them self & need a magnet
Cup hinges has problem of dis alignment now and then, its easy to fix it back but a recurring issue - cut hinges once done is done no issue
Cup hinges shutters sit on box there by seamless veneer or laminate designs possible - cut hinges looks awkward with beads not matching to the laminate or veneers used
Cup hinges shutters can open from 90 to 180 degree with out damaging the laminate/venner - Cut hinges shutters cannot be opened beyond 75-80 degree also the laminate /veneer gets damaged in no time
Cup hinges are flexible to design a shutter is many ways - Cut hinges are just stereo type with very limited options
Cup hinges need to be operated smoothly - cut hinges are very ruff and tuff

Design your wardrobes with sliding doors ,there by avoiding the cup hinges with out compromising on appearance and life long solution
