Hi MSN,

May i request you to share the details with me as well. How was your experience working with them.
We have quite a few vendors like HomeLane, DesignCafe etc who are into interiors - factory fitting interiors...
Compared to them how did you find directly dealing with Factory

Please share the details of factory if possible more details on pricing what you got done.

In branded ones like DesignCafe, Bonito..etc, adopts more of corporate styled marketing strategy starting from Getting an appointment even to visit their studio for a preliminary discussion, all their nice looking staff wearing catchy uniforms,,,,etc, offering you soft drinks....etc. You can experience their live models set up of Kitchen, Bedroom, Living hall...etc in their studios to see their work, which gives better picture for an ordinary customer. One of my neighbor had ordered his Interiors for a 2 BHK flat around 1.5 year back from design café. They've very lengthy process, they took nearly 2+ months for finalizing the design drawing and then another 3 months for completing the project. Only Your First Visit and Design Review visits are free for you. If you want anymore visit, its paid service. They visit your project only 2 times. If you need any changes at a later point of time, those visit will be charged on daily basis. It took nearly 5 months for a 2 BHK, Even if we consider it as Corona Period, they need 3 months for a 2BHK house interior work. For a middle class person, waiting for 3 months for a 2BHK interior work is not reasonable. As usual they did some gimmicks like if you book your order today by paying 20% advance, you will get 15% discount in the final bill...etc. On the other side, you won't get a chance to visit their factory to see how things gets done for your work. And also you won't get the very detailed material break up like which brand or what thickness of ply or laminate they use....etc. in their quote. And you must remember, if you want brand and nice experience, you must bear all their overheads as part of your order.

In this kind of Factory where I got it done, Its a true manufacturing environment with a separate office room for the customer meetings, no cosmetic environment like Reception, AC Environment, Beautiful Front Office Staff...etc. On meeting them for your need, you can get a chance to see 100s of the albums of their completed projects during your meeting and based on your convenience they take you to couple of their on going projects to show case you their work. Once you are ok with their work, you can get into the formal ordering process to start the engg drawing activity by paying some advance amount. you can review/refine the design as many times as you wish till you finalize the design. Once its finalized, either you can go for full contract or only labor work where you can supply materials from your own sources. Good part is, you are allowed to visit the factory on the day your order gets executed and you can physically see the entire process starting from validating your agreed materials and the work done specific to your project. More over once you freeze the design & make second installment, your work gets completed in less than 10 days time. Only in case of any specific material of your choice is not readily available in the Market, it may take some extra time. Here less overheads as there is no corporate marketing gimmicks. More or less the cost remains to the same level as any manual carpenter contract. You save lot of time.

Any manual carpentry work takes at least 1.5 to 2 Months for a 2BHK Interior work and you need to place them in your property for that whole period and it blocks/conflicts with your other ongoing works and they utilize your electricity for their carpentry work, their bath, their cooking...etc. In some times, they damage your walls or Flooring tiles & they don't take any responsibility for that, you need to get it restored by yourselves. Sometimes if there are multiple service providers working at the same time like carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Tile Layers, Fabricator, there are instances of some conflicts, like if everyone starts using their drilling, cutting, Welding, polishing machines simultaneously, your electrical panel board fuse may blew up due to overload and stops everyone's work in case your temporary BESCOM connection Load is not sufficient, due to which they may start abusing each other to stop their work....etc. which can affect your peace of mind also, when your neighbor's complaints about their frequent fighting's. So minimizing simultaneous work at site is also a nee of the hour. These things varies from case to case basis.
