Raghu,

Can you please post the model number and vendor info for Bosch pressurized system?

With the Heater Element in the Tank, No need of separate Electric Geyser installation.
But the drawback is that, it heats the entire tank capacity of water. hence it consumes
more power and also more time.

msn thanks for your reply. I dont like the idea of wasting so much electricity on cloudy days. Is having geyser as a backup the only option? Dont we have an option of an alternative in solar heaters even now? Just trying to find out what is the best option here.

We are 6 people ; 4 adults and 2 kids and the engineer/architect recommended 300 L solar water heater.

Recommendation from various people have been that FPC based ones are more sturdy/maintenance free compared to tubular though they are more expensive. The area we will live in also has hardwater, which means I need a solarizer ultra equivalent model. Also, my engineer says that pressurizers will not be useful for me given that my tank is at 20 feet above the bathrooms and we are not going for special showers.

Here is the quotation I got for various models (all 300 L without pressure pump)

Bosch 300 LITRES -Enamel NON Pressurized 1C: Rs 68891
Solarizer 300 LITRES – Soilarizer ULTRA -AV : Rs. 66,993.00
Tata – 300 LITRES – ZING – NON Pressurized : Rs. 79,547.00

This certainly seems more expensive than what everyone else mentioned here!

Dealer is recommending Bosch. Any experiences with each of these brands?

@rkrishna,

A friend of mine who was working for a solar heater company told me that Tata/Solarizer/Bosch are pretty good. Don't go for some local ones like Anu Solar ... as the quality of materials may not be good.

Can you please post vendor contact for Bosch solar heater?

I am hearing from my solar heater dealer that ETC model only is suitable for hard water. Although FPC costs more he did not recommend it. So finally had to settle for ETC model. Are there any disadvantags of ETC model. One thing I heard was the tubes are prone to breakages. But the dealer said if the tube can break the plate will break just as easily. Any inputs on this?

Hi Friends,

I am in the Process of Purchasing the Solar Water Heater, Please suggest the Better one (Performance, Warranty & Service)
Will go with FPC based Solar Water Heater for 200 Ltrs.

I am more interested on Solarizer Brand with the Prices below from Emvee Solars- Is the prices are correct or is it on higher side.
34000/- for Value Model
36000/- for Spring Model
40000/- for Ulta Model.

If any other brands are very good compared to Solarizer - Please suggest the model.

You can check Racold. I found them ( their tank) better than solarizer when I bought one (about 6 years ago).

Hello Swamy,
There are two types of the solar water heater ( ETC & FPC). Flat panel are costlier whereas Tubular water heaters are cheaper. you can use FPC heater if you continuously get soft water else go for ETC model. ETC model is good for hard water heating and i am using NUETECH solar water heaters of 200 lts for 5 members.

Please contact NewTeCH Solar solutions for any kind solar water heater requirements. You can refer my name "Ritesh Shetty" while speaking with them.

Thanks, Rithick
