Which is a good built-in Dishwasher?

Post by sachinuc »

There seem to be several options for built-in dishwashers in the market. Nagold(by Hafele), Whirlpool, Elica and some others. They range from 50000 to 60000
Anyone with experience with the above brands?

Hi,
I always wonder how can they just sell equipment made for western standards in india and brand them tailor made for India .
None of the inbuilt dishwashers comes for Indian standard heights, our kitchen platforms are made at 32" or 800 mm ht considering average Indian women ht as 5' to 5'3" .All the dishwashers are 32.5" or 815 mm + ply thickness (19mm) + granite thickness (20mm) + min free space ( 12mm ) .so the finished ht will be 34" or 866 mm.
In case we are using traditional cook-tops add another 3" so the total ht will be 34"+ 3" = 37"
A height difference of 2" can lead to shoulder pains ,since Indian foods are more elaborate and need to stand and prepare for long time, height matters .
My suggestion is to plan the dishwasher in a location where you can increase the ht of platform limited only for that area and use the same top for placing your microwave .
