Hi. if you are looking for zero maintenance and once time investment UPVC always preferred choice. but you have to spent good money (UPVC Price starts from 520 - 650/sqft including the installation.) for UPVC windows, however Wooden windows are not the bad idea if you are looking for more elegant and it works out very economical (350 -400/sqft (Red sal for frames and Onne for shutters), after so much of dicussion we used wooden frame for our last project. it come put really well. If your are looking for wooden window Call up on this number 7034830451, otherwise for UPVC - Madhu industries 080 2842 9778

Hi msl
Wooden windows are long lasting if u go with good seasoned wood. Honne comes under hard wood category and it is the most preferred wood for frames and shutter and it is slightly costlier i.e Rs.700-750/cft more than red sal and white sal.
Upvc windows are slowly replacing wood windows as they are cost effective but always prefer branded ones and will cost around Rs400-500/sft.
If u can afford then go with wooden windows the range of styles available for UPVC windows is limited to the styles that are currently extruded. Wooden windows can be designed and made to replicate the existing frames, allowing you to keep the original style of the windows, in keeping with the age and style of the house.

Also Wooden windows are five to six times more long lasting than upvc windows
