Good to know that my inputs helped your decision. Vibrator is a must for columns. If you do not use, there are good chances of getting honeycombs. Once you use plasticizer (Yes, it should be used along with usage of vibrator, as both are meant for different purposes, though they are complementing each other) and use pin vibrator the chances of honeycombs occurring are very less, unless the mason is not qualified enough. Like I just said, there is no question of detecting honeycombs at early stage - using both vibrator and plasticizer will prevent their formation.
