The allotment of nearly 3,099 sites by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) will commence in the first week of July.

Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda is expected to confirm the date shortly regarding the distribution of sites at Rabindranath Tagore Nagar and Lalitadrinagar, and at Chamalapura in Nanjangud.

This was announced by district in-charge Minister S.A. Ramdas after reviewing development projects here on Wednesday.

MUDA received nearly 85,000 fresh applications for the allotment of 1,760 sites at R.T. Nagar, 1,278 sites at Lalitadrinagar and 61 sites at Chamalapura.

The authorities have repeatedly missed the deadline for allotment. The previous deadline for completing the allotment process was April 2012. Earlier, the MUDA had averred in its 2011-12 budget that the distribution process would be completed by March 2012.

MYSORE: The Mysore Urban Development Authority will distribute sites in three new layouts it has developed in July. It is also opening a stretch of Outer Ring Road (ORR) which is upgraded to six lane.

District minister S A Ramdas is meeting the CM D V Sadananda Gowda to fix the date for the event. In all 3,099 sites in Ravindaranath Tagore Nagar, Lalithadrinagar and Chamalapura. While the sites are ready for distribution for some four months and MUDA has finalized the seniority list for the allotment of sites, it could not announce dates. Ramdas said it will be done in the first week of July.

Of the four packages for the upgradation of the ORR, one stretch of 7.4 km between Mysore-Bangalore junction to Bannur road junction is ready, which will be inaugurated. The rest of the three packages will be ready by July end.

The MUDA is also handing over three layouts it developed-Dattagalli III stage, Vijayanagar II stage and Satagalli I stage-to MCC along with 14 private layouts for maintenance.

Ramdas said MUDA has conducted a survey of Mysoreans who don't own a house. There are 30,665 such residents who have rented house. This is precursor to devising a housing policy exclusive for Mysoreans, Ramdas said after a meeting with the MUDA officials. The Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) has been approved by the urban development minister Suresh Kumar. The master plan 2031 will be published on July 1 and the objections will be invited, Ramdas stated.

First week of July has just passed and now it almost looks certain that we will have a new chief minister, so wonder when can we really expect any announcements from MUDA now....

Its ridiculous to wait for the people elected political representatives for these small works. we don't understand whats the value addition from them to the public.

Already C.M Gowda is also on his way out. Definitely New CM will not have time for this activity, as he will be more busy in pleasing his God father for some days.

Our venting frustration on a website will not bring any results from MUDA officials. They have been playing with our desperation for too long. I think we will have to wait for few more months before we can hear any news.

What can we do to expedite this process? Why is media not proactive? All they do is blindly report what the MUDA officials want them to do. Isn't there one journalist at Deccan Herald, SOM, The Hindu, TOI etc who is worth his salt do some investigative journalism or expose the plight of consumers and get MUDA to act on this issue. This is pathetic to say the least.

Now the allotment will be after July 30. I do not understand, why these MUDA officials are behind the CM to distribute the sites. Can't they just announce the list and get done with it. Make life easy on common folks and themselves.



CM TO LAUNCH DISTRIBUTION OF 3099 SITES AFTER SESSION
Mysore, July 20- The Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is spending Rs. 45.57 crore for the development of 1,563 sites in Lalithadrinagar and the same will be distributed to allottees by the Chief Minister shortly after the Assembly session concludes on July 30.

This was announced by MUDA Chairman L. Nagendra during an inspection of the layout this morning. Lalithadri Layout comprises two portions � 122 acres and 188 acres � where MUDA has provided a Ground Level Water Storage Reservoir (GLWSR) of 15 lakh litres capacity and another GLWSR of 5 lakh litres capacity. The layout also boasts of seven parks and a burial ground, apart from other civic amenities.

Apart from these 1,563 sites in Lalithadri Layout, the CM will be distributing another 1,536 layouts allotted in Rabindranath Tagore Nagar and Chamalapura, said Nagendra, adding that the MUDA had received 82,821 applications for the total 3099 sites.

Nagendra, accompanied by MUDA Commissioner Dr. C.G. Betsurmath and other officials, also inspected Bal Bhavan area measuring 12.5 acres, which is being renovated at a cost of Rs. 4 cr. The Bal Bhavan, which had been leased to Women and Child Development Dept., has now been recovered and developed as a Theme Park. The MUDA team also inspected the incomplete stretch of Outer Ring Road.

MUDA allots 60 acres for cricket stadium

The MUDA has allotted a 60 acre plot of land in Shanthaveri Gopala Gowda Nagar II Stage at the foot of Chamundi Hill to construct an international level cricket stadium. The land will either be handed over to Karnataka State Cricket Association or the MUDA will construct the cricket stadium on its own, said MUDA Commissioner Dr. Betsurmath.

This plot of land is a portion of the 465 acres of land near Hosahundi village, bordering the forest lane. The plot where the stadium is planned has a natural lake which is being filled with stone boulders and soil. This lake used to be a collecting point for the rain water running down the Chamundi Hill.

Neither of the politicians nor the CM adds any value to this activity, which is mainly for the middle class people & economically weaker section. During 2005-06, two times MUDA allotted sites and refunded the Initial deposits to the unsuccessful applicants in just 3-4 months.

Now It looks like the present chairman and the commissioner have come to these respective places not by their Individual Capacity/eligibility, Mainly due to the Favor of the BJP X-CM Yeddy. No doubt these two are also from the same community(?). They are the same duo who allotted more than 10 G Category sites upon instruction from Yeddy to his relatives at throw away prices. Hence these two are bending down at the cost of the integrity of work and public interest and making their maximum effort to woo/showcase their loyalty to the Yeddy Team.

The long wait for sites developed by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) at Rabindranath Tagore Nagar, Lalitadrinagar and Chamalapura (Nanjangud) may end in August as MUDA is planning to invite Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar to distribute the long-awaited sites after the legislature session.

With the pending works almost done, MUDA is set to distribute 3,099 sites. Disclosing this after an inspection of works taken up by authority here, MUDA Commissioner C.G. Betsurmath said: “We have planned to hold a mega function to distribute the sites…The site distribution may be done after the [legislature] session.”

Huge response

MUDA received 82,821 applications for sites in the three layouts.

The response was huge as the authority had invited applications for sites after a long gap.

Chairman L. Nagendra, Dr. Betsurmath and other officials from MUDA inspected works here on Friday.

The MUDA team visited the location of the proposed international cricket stadium at Shanthaveri Gopala Gowda Nagar II stage.

“The stadium is coming up on 60 acres,” the commissioner said.

The chairman and officials visited Lalitadrinagar and inspected the work on the ground-level water storage reservoir.

The commissioner said the civil works were almost done and the painting of the reservoir structure was underway.

Road widening

Mr. Nagendra and Dr. Betsurmath reviewed the widening of outer ring road (ORR) at three places where the works had been taken under Packages 1, 2 and 4. “The work is progressing well and may be completed in the coming weeks,” the commissioner said.

They also inspected the incomplete stretch of the ORR, which is being widened into a six-lane road under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission .

The MUDA team later proceeded to Vijayanagar III stage, where a crematorium has been built for over Rs. 6.68 crore. It is set for inauguration in September. The team also visited the sports complex built in the same locality to inspect the work on the compound wall. The road-widening work near Kalamandira was also inspected.

Dr. Betsurmath said applicants who sought MUDA sites less than twice were recovering their deposit from the MUDA. “Usually, the deposit is returned to those failing to get the sites only after the distribution of sites. But this time, we have made a provision wherein [applicants] with less than two attempts can collect the deposit amount as it was not possible for them to get sites with one or two attempts,” the commissioner explained.
