Wood Borer in sal wood frames

Hello All,
This is for my brothers house. There were some small pencil lead sized holes and some powder seen in the window frames ( white sal wood). Initially it was only in one frame and now we see it in other 2 frames as well. Its not the whole frame but just one piece of wood ( one side) in each frame. Pest control guys came in and applied some stuff but looks like its not stopping. Any remedies for it ? We are afraid because this is a new house and at the pace it making the holes, the frame might loose its strenght soon and may become brittle .
From a quick googling it says that it might be due to the larvas inside the wood . Is it because of bad quality wood ? We had inspected the wood during purchase by different folks and nobody had any doubts on the quality. Will it spread more or it will stop after some time on its own ? Any remedies to control/fix this ?
