Hi All,
Can someone please let me know the current price of APCO 6" solid blocks?
Are there other options beyond APCO that members on this forum have used in the past?
Someone told me that pick some branded blocks. But I have also heard that price of APCO has gone up significantly.
Thanks,
RJ

I have used APCO for my entire construction. About 4 months back, the price was around 42 Rs
I have also used other brands (max, local) in the meantime, but none stand anywhere close to APCO. Every block is perfectly cured, almost zero loss while transportation, perfectly sharp edges..
APCO blocks have two major challenges, they take quite sometime to deliver, so you need to plan well, plus, blocks are so hard that your electrician and plumber will curse you as it requires enormous effort while chipping..
Other blocks have challenges,10% loss during transportation or unloading, blunt edges, inconsistent structure, breaks while chipping etc.. not worth it..

Thank you ganeshncm.
That helps. APCO is what I would plan for.
I assume Rs. 42 is proce for 6" blocks.

approx 42rs for 6 inches if you buy from the company.
And another tip. Never get 8" blocks. They are just too heavy, labourers refuse to lift/transport it to higher floors. Use the 6" itself to build the 8"/9" wall

I didn't construct a basement..
I somehow think that termite proofing have nothing to do with block choice. It is the way you construct matters. Use water proofing solution for plastering and use a rubber mat to completely block off moisture from entering the walls. Added to that, you do termite treatment solutions like solutions like Terminator around the basement (please note that this could be toxic if you plan to grow plants around your house)

Ok Thanks Ganesh..
I come to know that Flyash Bricks has less water absorption nature.. So it's preferred for Basement construction.. Whether Concrete Blocks (APCO or local made) also similar in nature...

Based on Telephonic enquiry with APCO, I got following price details for Solid Block Grade C
Transport cost: 3450
8inch: 47.2 (Max 320nos per truck) so landing cost comes to 58 per block
4inch: 28.2 (704nos) landing cost 33.1 per block
