My 2 cents if you are going for any kind of laminated shutters specially glossy finish or acrylic with glass like finish. (similar to highend brands like Aristo or what you see in home centre ) don't get the laminate hand pasted by carpenter l.

Check at some factory they finish using machines and send to site for fitting or ask your carpenter for factory finish.

The key difference is that if carpenter pastes the the glossy sheet at site there are minute undulations they are not visible when it is made in daylight but these days homes have pleothra of LED lights in false ceiling and with goid lighting all the undulations of hand pasted shutters and panels become visible and look ugly.

Thick laminates (1mm or thicker) with edge bending or costlier ones like acrylic or Charcoal ( Korean made thick laminate quite costly not sure why it is called charcoal sheet) are quite costly and getting them hand pasted is like wasting money. Vaneers are OK for hand pasting or else don't go for modern distributed interior lights and stick to older arrangement of 2 tubelights in hall.

There are quite a few factories innbangalore which do proper finishing with machines. Most carpenters know about them but try to paste themselves at site to have better margins.
