Hi
My site is 1ft slope from the road side, and it is dead end plot and small kaluve (small channel to get rain water from in front of the house) that coming in front of my house also ends at my plot. If the rain comes there is no way the water can go ,and it can get into the compound of my house. I am anyway raising the house by 4 feet from the road so that water won;t get into the house, but still water can get into the compound with no place to get drained if heavy rain comes as drainage facilities were not there till now at NRI colony side. We all using pit ,and i cannot drain the water onto it as it is not deep to collect these water being used for collecting the toilet waste, and in another years to come drainage come as well ,i heard we cannot drain the water into drainage as per government rule.
Please guide what ways i can get rid of this? . Is any risk even though i raise by 4 feet or should i raise above the this height as well?
Regards
Sam

you could add soil and build the gradient towards the street. Even if the house itself is raised, as you mention water can get in the compound. By making the slope from your plot towards the street, you will alleviate the water entering your plot. But you need to plan on this before construction, so your architect/engineer can plan all the plumbing and other items that need some gradients.

thanks ,input is well taken but the water mainly comes via small kaluve(chanell) in front of the house. Though i raise the street gradient, that cannot help in deviating my water from kaluve as all the other houses kitchen/compound drain except drainage which goes to pit falls into this kaluve in the front of the house and flows.
