In the first and second floor of our house under construction,
there is a provision for creating a box type projection (shown
in the attachment). Current idea is to use this for elevation
purpose from outside (some form of cladding ?) and use it as
wardrobe from inside. I was told that aerocon blocks should
be used for this purpose. I would like to hear member's
feedback on this ? Any other possibilities ?
thanks

Re: Box type projection
What will be the advantage of using aerocon blocks.
Even I had same situation in 2 places in first floor to convert into puja room & Wardrobe, I used 4" Solid blocks.
Later planning to plaster it with Integrated water proof on external wall with extra thickness.
Here I have one question, Can I stop ceiling level of projected area with 7 feet ceiling (similar to chaaja ) or I need to extend it to roof celing level.

Re: Box type projection
Refer http://www.hil.in/productview.aspx?categoryid=3&productid=88&subproductid=87. The main advantage is low weight.
Re: Box type projection
A quick suggestion, check this if you feel right.
Construct 4inch wall till roof and have chaaja at 7ft, by this you can have wardrobe and above it can be used as closed cabin.
