Is it safe to leave a BDA plot empty for investment?

Post by pyaretaj »

I just needed to know whether its safe to leave a BDA plot empty without constructing a house for long period of time? As I own a BDA plot, I do not wish to construct a house but to just make a gate, maintain a nice garden and leave it for investment for long term. Is it advisable to do so, or is it imperative that I should construct a room and leave it, just for protection from tresspassers and land grabbers?

Leave it as it is or construct a compound wall all round the site. Do not ever construct a room and leave it, if you are not going to visit it on a regular basis as it attracts anti-social elements and anti-social activities, if left unattended. How do you plan on maintaining the garden? Do you plan on having a borewell? Without water, the garden will not survive a hot summer.

If you live in the local area, a compound wall should be more than enough.

There's another school of thought that says go with the herd and avoid standing out. Which essentially means - follow the profile of adjoining sites in your lane. If others have built a compound, you do so too, if not, just leave it as is (of course regular site visits are assumed). Anything that's out of the ordinary invites attention. And a bigger issue these days is - people have started vandalizing unattended compounds and stealing the stones/pillars/wires used for compound construction. Have a friend who has suffered this first hand and has vowed not to build a compound again until his house construction is taken up.
