Huge penalty for getting new BWSSB Water Connection

Last week, Urban Development Minister Said, Subscribers for kaveri Water 4th stage II Phase have to pay only "SAJALA" application fee for new connection.

Whereas BWSSB is demanding Approximately Rs.2000 for connectivity charges, Penalty with effect from the year 2005 of Rs. 8000/16000/24000 based on the site dimension and number of floors of the building to get the new kaveri water connections for the recently proposed 8 BBMP Zones.

As per BWSSB, 20X30 dimension owners need not to pay any penalty, whereas 30X40 have to pay Rs.8,000, 60X40 dimension owners have to Pay Rs. 16,000 and multistory/high rise building owners have to pay Rs,24,000....etc whereas no mention about other site dimensions like 30x50, 40X50,50X80...etc. More over there is no official communication, Reason, justification for demanding this huge penalty even for the vacant site owners. Moreover people have to shell out penalty based on the number of floors in the building, even though BWSSB provides only one connection per site(No Logic, why multiple penalties?? ).

What a pity state for the public, who were desperately waiting for the much awaited Water Connection.
